MUSEO ETNOGRAFICO "REGOLE D'AMPEZZO"

The new Museum housed in a renovated sawmill has been entirely redesigned, focusing on the Regole d'Ampezzo, the century old common heritage of the Cortina d'Ampezzo valley.

The exhibition is developed on two floors in the upper part of the building. On the first floor, the collective institution of the Regole d'Ampezzo and on the second floor the common heritage of the Regole and the collective management of forests and pasturelands.

In the basement, the space has been designed in order to house themed exhibitions, the precious collections of traditional arts and crafts - tarsia works, silver filigree, wrought iron and traditional costumes.
On the same floor there is a teaching classroom.

The scopes of the exhibition are: focusing the attention of the visitors on the ancient decisions and choices that formed the forests and pasturelands that we admire today; helping visitors to understand that over the centuries the collective management of the common heritage has been the main source of sustenance for the Ampezzo community; and finally showing that this ancient institution is still successfully functioning in our times.

Through a selection of objects and images the museum documents important cultural aspects of the Ampezzo community: the heritage of traditions and customs, the management of forests and pasturelands, and the century-old relationship of Man with the natural environment.

Il nuovo allestimento museale del Museo Etnografico delle Regole d'Ampezzo trova sede in una segheria ristrutturata. Il percorso museale è stato totalmente ripensato e incentrato sulle Regole d'Ampezzo, quale secolare proprietà collettiva della valle di Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Il percorso è sviluppato nei due piani superiori dell'edificio. Al primo piano viene presentata l'istituzione collettiva delle Regole d'Ampezzo; al secondo piano è rappresentato il territorio regoliero e la gestione collettiva di boschi e pascoli.

Nel piano seminterrato è stato realizzato un allestimento che permette di fare delle piccole esposizioni tematiche. Sono visibili le pregevoli collezioni di artigianato artistico - ebanisteria, filigrana d'argento, ferro battuto - e i costumi tradizionali. Nello stesso piano si trova un'aula didattica.

L'esposizione ha lo scopo di far capire a tutti i visitatori del museo come, dietro un paesaggio di boschi e pascoli che tutti ammirano, vi siano scelte secolari che le generazioni passate hanno compiuto, come la proprietà collettiva abbia costituito in passato la fonte essenziale dei mezzi di sopravvivenza della comunità ampezzana e come l'istituzione, tuttora riconosciuta, sia oggi ancora valida e operante.

Attraverso un'esposizione selettiva di oggetti e di immagini il museo documenta alcuni aspetti importanti della cultura della comunità ampezzana: il patrimonio di tradizione, le modalità di gestione dei boschi e dei pascoli, il secolare rapporto tra uomini e territorio.
