MUSEO DELL'ARIA

The Air Museum is located inside Villa Zaborra also known as Castello di San Pelagio. The fourteenth century tower, part of the Carraresi defensive system, dates back to 1340. From 1600 onwards the villa was born, which was entirely rebuilt in the 18th century by Counts Zaborra to better perform its agricultural functions. In 1918 it is home to the squadron "La Serenissima" which leaves from here for the famous Flight over Vienna under the command of Gabriele D'Annunzio. In 1970 the property, to save from degradation the villa full of family memories, think of a transformation that not perverts the functions housing, agricultural and host. At that time the villa was the subject of careful restoration and re-thought in the current functions primarily as a museum of flight. Inaugurated in 1980, fruit of the property and Maria Fede Caproni, the entire history of human flight by pivoting on the company D'Annunzio; for this flight it is dedicated the main part of the museum with rooms inhabited by the poet in the period 1917-1919. Are the "outline" the rooms dedicated to Leonardo, the Montgolfier, to Wright, to Ferrarin, Lindbergh, to Nobile, Balbo, in Forlanini, Gagarin and Armstrong. The tour ends in the outdoor gardens that are home to several aircraft and weapons systems.

From December to February, the museum is open on Sundays and public holidays from 10 to 17.
From March to November it is open at the following times: Wednesday and Thursday from 9 to 13; Friday and Saturday from 9 to 13 and from 14.30 to 18.30; Sunday from 10 to 19.

Il Museo dell'Aria è situato all'interno di Villa Zaborra conosciuta anche come Castello di San Pelagio. La torre trecentesca, parte del sistema difensivo dei Carraresi, è datata 1340. Dal 1600 in poi nasce la villa che, nel Settecento, viene interamente rimaneggiata dai Conti Zaborra per meglio svolgere le funzioni agricole alle quali è da sempre adibita. Nel 1918 è sede della squadriglia “La Serenissima” che da qui è parte per il Volo su Vienna al comando di Gabriele D'Annunzio. Nel 1970 la proprietà, per salvare dal degrado la villa densa di ricordi famigliari, pensa a una trasformazione che non ne snaturi le funzioni abitative, agricole e di accoglienza. In quel periodo la villa è stata oggetto di accurati restauri e ripensata nelle funzioni attuali principalmente come museo del volo. Inaugurato nel 1980, frutto dell’impegno della proprietà e di Maria Fede Caproni, ripercorre l’intera storia del volo umano facendo perno sull’impresa dannunziana; a tale volo è dedicata la parte principale del museo con le stanze abitate dal poeta nel periodo 1917-1919. Fanno da "contorno" le sale dedicate a Leonardo, ai Montgolfier, ai Wright, a Ferrarin, a Lindbergh, a Nobile, a Balbo, a Forlanini, a Gagarin e Armstrong. Il percorso si conclude nei giardini esterni che ospitano numerosi velivoli e sistemi bellici.

Da dicembre a febbraio il museo è aperto la domenica e i giorni festivi dalle 10 alle 17.
Da marzo a novembre è aperto nei seguenti orari: mercoledì e giovedì dalle 9 alle 13; venerdì e sabato dalle 9 alle 13 e dalle 14.30 alle 18.30; domenica dalle 10 alle 19.
