CASTELLO INFERIORE DI MAROSTICA - MUSEO DEI COSTUMI DELLA PARTITA A SCACCHI

It is a typical example of Scaligeri’s military architecture (14th century). During the Venetian age it became the governor’s dwelling and, as a result, it was transformed into a palace. Today it is the seat of the town council and hosts exhibitions and the Museum of the Human Chess Game’s Costumes. It houses the costumes worn by the actors during the famous chess match, a set of Middle age weapons and some objects used during the Chess Game. Visitors can also see a collection of memento’s of Marostica’s twinships and of the Chess Game’s representations taken abroad.

Tipico esempio di architettura militare scaligera (XIV sec.), coi Veneziani diviene residenza del Rettore assumendo i caratteri del palazzo. Oggi è sede espositiva e ospita al proprio interno spazi museali. Espone i più antichi costumi della rievocazione della Partita a scacchi di Marostica, una serie d’armi e d’oggetti di scena e una mostra di cimeli e ricordi di gemellaggi.
