SI - IN PARTE

The Castle of Monselice is a whole building composed of four principal nuclei. The most ancient part is the “Castelletto” with the annexe “Casa Romanica”, built between the XI and XII centuries. The Tower of Ezzelino is a massive XIII century building, connected with the other existing structures through the renaissance Marcello Palace, XV century. The visitors get exciting sights from the courtyards, particularly from the main one and from the “Campiello” in front of the church, planned by Tirali. In 1935 count Vittorio Cini, owner of the Castle, starts a radical restauration of the whole complex of buildings by refurnishing the interiors with a great collection of wheapons, tables, chairs, paintings and tapestries, rooms enriched with remarkable fireplaces, precious ornaments, medieval and renaissance kitchen tools. The Castle is pervaded by a magical atmosphere, as if, by spell, the ancient dwellers should appear from the Middle Age or Renaissance to take ownership of these places again and live their heroic deeds.
